Why Were Cadillac V-Series Vehicles Created?

In the early 2000s, Cadillac underwent a rebranding phase. As part of the rebranding, General Motors decided to create the Cadillac V-Series. At the time, these vehicles were created to rival popular luxury automobiles, such as the Mercedes-AMG and the BMW M. In 2004, the first model of the V-series collection was released; the Cadillac CTS-V. That model was very popular, and that helped to launch the full collection of V-series automobiles that are available today. Cadillac decided to name the collection the V-series because it was a way to create something new and unique, while also honoring the history of the Cadillac company. Cadillac vehicles that were manufactured after the Second World War had a v-shaped hood ornament, and that was used as the inspiration for the V-series.
