The one Cadillac that continues to get everyone excited is the Cadillac XT5 luxury SUV, and the 2024 model year doesn’t disappoint with three unique, distinguished, and highly refined trims (Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport).
2024 Cadillac XT5 Engine Configurations
There are two engine configurations for the 2024 Cadillac XT5. The first is a precision-engineered, cast aluminum, direct-injection, 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) variable valve timing (VVT) engine that produces an impressive 235 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. This engine option is available on both the Luxury and Premium trims.
The second engine option is an equally impressive cast aluminum, direct-injection 3.6-liter 6-cylinder DOHC VVT engine that produces 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. This 3.6-liter is available on the Premium Luxury and Sport trims. Both engine options come with Cadillac’s innovative active fuel management system and Cadillac’s Hydra-Matic™ nine-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped, the XT5’s maximum towing capacity is 3,500 lbs, more than enough power for weekend escapes.
XT5 Suspension and C1XX Design Platform
Cadillac is known for multiple engineering firsts and for its ability to design vehicles with superior driving dynamics. The XT5 is a well-designed, modern-styled SUV whose crisp, refined lines ensure it gets noticed. The XT5 continues Cadillac’s tradition for engineering firsts through General Motors’s revolutionary C1XX design and architecture platform and its optimized suspension system.
This state-of-the-art C1XX design platform focuses on creating lightweight, sturdy, and highly flexible transversely-mounted powertrains with responsive wheelbase configurations. These capabilities, along with a MacPherson strut (continuous damping control) front suspension and an independent (continuous damping control) five-link rear suspension, means the XT5 is a compact SUV that handles, performs, maneuvers, and corners like a finely-tuned sports car.
2024 XT5 Trim Levels
2024 XT5 Cadillac Luxury
The Luxury trim is Cadillac’s base model XT5 and comes with the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. A luxurious driver-centric cabin includes Cadillac’s Inteluxe™ premium upholstery, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control for the ultimate in comfort. 60/40 split-folding second-row seats increase cargo space from 30.2 cubic feet to an incredible 63 cubic feet.
An 8-inch diagonal, multi-color infotainment touchscreen with voice recognition is paired with a 5.7-inch instrument cluster and a powerful, eight-speaker Bose® premium sound system. The XT5 Luxury model comes standard with front-wheel drive (FWD) but does have the option of all-wheel drive (AWD).
Power liftgate, multiple driver-mode selectors, electronic precision shift, emergency braking, collision alert, front and rear park assist, rear HD camera, teen driver technology, IntelliBeam® high-beams, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, remote keyless entry, and a bevy of Cadillac Smart System™ features to ensure the safest of rides.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Premium Luxury
The XT5 Premium Luxury model builds upon the abundance and richness of the Luxury’s interior layout but upgrades the upholstery with all-leather seating in both the first and second rows. Customers can choose between the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder or the 3.6-liter V6 and opt for 20-inch alloy wheels. The interior also upgrades the eight-speaker system to an impressive 14-speaker Bose® Performance Series sound system that resonates throughout the cabin.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Sport
The XT5 Sport only comes with the 3.6-liter V6 while including Brembo® high-performance front brakes with bright red calipers, something not available in the other trims. The Sport has the same 20-inch wheels as the Premium Luxury model but accentuates them further with 12 pearl nickel finish spokes, which adds to the sporty feel. A sport-tuned, twin-clutch AWD suspension further distinguishes the XT5 Sport from the other trims.
